		An area of the coast that has great natural beauty with a fine tapestries of walled towns and ancient hilltop villages many containing examples of Romanesque and Gothic architecture. The beautiful city of Girona is an undiscovered gem only 40 minutes drive from Begur. The whole area is steeped in culture, Salvador Dali is a famous son and his homes at Portlligat and Cadaques are well worth visiting, as is the Dali Museum at Figueres. The little community of Mas Mato is really off the beaten track, apart from Sa Riera beach below the house, beaches such as Calella de Palafrugell, Llafranc and Sa Tuna are all within about 10 minutes drive away.
